Known as one of the more prestigious suburbs in Lusaka, Kabulonga is located 15 km southeast from Lusaka's CBD. It is an area rich in history and held in high esteem, making it a popular location for official Embassy residences, expatriates, government officials, and senior businesspeople. For these reasons, property in the area is considered to be high value, and is regarded as the 'crème-de-la-crème.'  

 

Property in Kabulonga is large and lavish. Residential plot and house sizes are relatively large, with sufficient lush greenery decorating the opulent suburbia. Roads and infrastructure in the area has been revamped to accommodate Lusaka's growing population, making it one of Lusaka's most upmarket suburbs. One of the reasons Kabulonga is ideal for families is its proximity to quality private schools. In the heart of the residential area lies Woodford School, a primary school established in 2013 by founders with a history in education dating back to the 1960's. To the East, Kabulonga is just under 9 km from the American International School of Lusaka (AISL), a popular primary and high school amongst diplomats and expatriates. The International School of Lusaka (ISL) and Lusaka International Community School (LICS) are also within a 15km radius. 

  

Shopping Malls 

Recent developments have made Kabulonga a hub for a variety of shopping experiences. In the heart of the area lies the modern Centro Mall, an upscale shopping mall with a variety of local and international retail stores and restaurants. Whether you want groceries from Pick n Pay, or you are looking for an outfit for the weekend from Mr. Price or Woolworths, Centro Mall is the place to be. 

Just across the road, there is the famous Kabulonga Shopping Center, which has its own retail outlets and food stops, such as Steers and Debonairs. The famous Melisa Supermarket, one of the biggest retail stores in the country, is also within walking distance.  

If you are looking for a larger shopping experience, Kabulonga is located just 15 minutes away from EastPark Mall, Zambia's biggest mall. 

 

Hospitals 

Proximity and access to healthcare facilities is paramount to any quality suburban lifestyle. Fortunately, Kabulonga is no further than 20 km away from some of the finest healthcare facilities in the country. These include Victoria Hospital in Kalundu (6.7km), Cfb Medical Centre (5.8km), Maina Soko Military Hospital (5.8km) and the Coptic Hospital (7.9km).

By now, it should be clear that Kabulonga is a prestigious neighborhood to be in. This could not be underlined any further than the presence of The Quorum, an exclusive and private members club in the area. The Dutch Reformed Church of Zambia is also in Kabulonga, and is a beautiful site to visit. They also frequently host craft markets where you could pick up some souvenirs and meet the community. 

 

The culinary scene in Kabulonga also caters to a wide variety of tastes: as mentioned earlier, Centro Mall is number to a number of international food chains, such as Nando's, KFC & Roman's Pizza. Not too far away, you can explore a taste of West Africa at Naija Chops, a restaurant dedicated to showcasing the finest in Nigerian cuisine. If you're looking to sit and embrace a certain ambience while enjoying your meal, you can try the popular Roan & Sable Café & Grill, or the Turn n' Tender Steakhouse, which is also located at Centro Mall. The Orange Tree Public House is also a popular eating destination, and they frequently have live music and events to add to the experience of you having a meal and/or drinks.
